Our Garden

This was at the start of summer.
I took this one a few weeks ago.

We've enjoyed our garden this summer.  Mostly the zucchini and tomatoes...although the tomatoes didn't do as well as in past years...maybe the spring was too cold and wet.  We are just now getting a few little cantalopes...and no watermelon, just a vine.  We plan to do a little more prep on the ground this fall.

The Three Little Great-O's.

When you come to GrandmaGreat's you always eat Creamies.
Ellyn wanted me to get a shot of her in the air.
Posted by PicasaI always get a kick out of Lindsay's little munch-kins.  I was tending them at her house on Thursday evening and made the comment to Kai that his "folks would be home soon."  I guess he hadn't heard that word much before because he asked me.."who are 'folks'?"  When I explained that "folks" were his parents, he asked, "Am I folks?"  "No, you're 'folks' kid."  "Are you 'folks?'"  "No, I'm the 'folks' grandma."  He thought a minute, then asked, "Is Guenther 'folks'?"(Note:  Guenther wasn't even there..I think Kai is amazing for a nearly-three-year-old)

Recent Projects

This summer Guenther put on some new siding and repainted the mower shed.  Here are before and after photos.

Stoll family party for September

Posted by PicasaWe had the Stoll family party over at the Grant Stake Park yesterday (Saturday the 25th).  We love Jackie for organizing the get-together each month, and it's great to see everyone.  Bob was responsible for a party for his work, and it worked out best for him to combine both groups when he reserved the park.  It worked out very well.  There's a fun little photo of Bob and the whole work gang where he agreed to be head-down on the slide.  Thanks again, Jackie and Bob

Memorial for Meghan

My sister Mari's daughter, Meghan, passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago, and we drove to Monument, Colorado to attend her memorial.

This is the lovely view from the patio outside "The Gathering Place" where Mari attends religious services. We ate out here after the program.

Gram Peachie, and in the background, Judy, Will, Michelle, and Sherry (Mari's friend)

Cecelia's children: Maureen, Eric, and Leslie. And Judy's daughter, Danielle.

A trip to IKEA with Lisa, Lindsay, and The Kids

Posted by Picasa
We spent the day at IKEA where Ema and Ellyn and Summer had a good time playing in the child care center.  Poor little Kai couldn't stay with them because he's not potty-trained.  A chagrined little fellow told his mom that he was ready to train now.

These two are tuckered out after a fun, but long, day of shopping.  Here we are driving to Matt's work, so that he could take his three home.  Then the rest of us met Nancy at Sweet Tomato's for dinner before we all met Jen and Jeff to see the Twilight movie, "Eclipse."  A really super day.

Grandma Lisa comes to visit

We had a great time when Lisa came for a visit.
