Cousin fun in West Point

These shots were taken in West Point on the corner of 300 North and 2000 West. I don't recall if I have already posted some. It just looks so different with Burt Johnson's house moved.

Last week we drove to West Point on Monday and got all the lawns mowed, and then on Friday we went again, intending to put sealant on the deck. However, it turned out to be way too hot an afternoon. So we just relaxed in the shade in the back yard and watched Summer play with her little cousins. We were tending her for the day while Drew and McCall went to Youth Conference.
Summer asked me to snap this photo of her hanging on the bar.

Lindsay listens to...er..correction..demonstrates her new MP3 player.

Another wonderful baptism

Summer was baptized by her father on Saturday, June 14, 2008 in Sandy, Utah, and it was a very special day.

After the baptism, Nancy invited everyone to her home for dessert in the backyard.

Lindsay furnished this lovely centerpiece.

Lindsay wanted a photo taken of their family, but the kids weren't in the mood

Snowbird Time for the Stolls

Each year for the past thirty years or so the Stoll family has gone up to Snowbird for the first week of June. Guenther and I went up on Sunday and joined the rest of the family for some good visiting and wonderful food. Jeannine brought her delicious rhubarb dessert, we love Tiffany's broccoli salad, Jackie served great barbecue on buns, and, I believe, the strawberry pie came from Genie, and the chocolate cookies from Amber...but I'm not too sure. We took a cake with marzipan frosting from Schmit's Bakery. It was all good.
Emma's fussing because she's a little hungry. She felt better when Jackie picked her up.
Tiffany and Richard and girls are headed for St. George for the week.
This is a lot of snow for June.

Ella is trying to steal some of Emily's food.
We are so thrilled. Krissie and Kyle are expecting!
David gave up the fight.

I like this shot of Rich and Emily.
Garret bumped his head on his little sister's shoe.

This is a rare shot. Most of the time little Ella Marcelle is a whirl of movement..exploring everything.

More Family Milestones

On Sunday, June 1st, David was ordained a High Priest by Tami's dad who gave him a beautiful blessing along with the ordination. A shot of Dave with Tami's dad and the high councilman assigned to David's ward.
We were all there in David's living room, and it was a memorable spiritual experience.

Summer turned eight years old on Friday, the 5th. She had her birthday party at David's house, and the kids enjoyed watching "Alvin and the Chipmunks" in the Theater Room.

These two boys who showed up for the party. Summer invited her whole class.
A cute shot of Drew. She brought some friends to help if needed.
I like this shot of Summer. She was a really cute little hostess to all her friends...great social skills...lucky girl.

A little video of a game they played.

We Have A New College Graduate

Jennifer Kaye received her diploma from the Westminster School of Nursing today, Saturday the 31st of May. Last night Guenther and I attended the Pinning Ceremony where she was officially "pinned." In the past, nurses uses to wear white caps which signified the school they had attended, and those have been replaced with distinctive pins.

The Graduate. We are so proud of her...nursing is a tough course of study, but she stuck with it. Way to go, Jen!
After the program we ate at the Lion House. Tami's mom and dad, Donna and Charles Ogle, flew down from Seattle for the occasion.

This is a fun shot. I'm sure glad that those stiletto heels are being worn by Jen and her friends, and not by me. My feet hurt just looking at them. (The white ones belong to Jen).
Jen's graduation present...she says it's going to be great on the snow and ice when she heads to the snowboarding slopes next winter.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

These shots were taken at the temple after our weekly session.

I love these flower boxes hanging on the walls behind the temple.

We stayed in West Point on Wednesday and Thursday and worked 'til we dropped. Guenther hooked up the air conditioner, adjusted sprinklers, trimmed weeds, mowed lawns, pruned trees, and mixed up spray for me to use. I cleaned the inside of the house and sprayed vegetation killer under the deck and on the gravel parking spot and along the fence line. I planned to drop by Lindsay's on the way home so I could get some hugs, but we were totally exhausted. It took us until noon on Friday to recuperate...guess we're getting old.
Look how the trees around the Suzuki place have grown.
