The Wedding

Rachel and Bryce were married by Terry. He did a great job.

Some of my favorite shots of the wedding.

The wedding day dawned beautiful... a little overcast...but it turned lovely as the day wore on. As posted earlier, I snapped a photo of a grizzly as I stood at Lisa's dining room window. Then, around noon another interesting turn of events was the unexpected visit of Olivia, Lisa's bridesmaid, whom she hadn't seen in over 20 years. The significant aspect of Olivia's appearance on Bryce's wedding day is the fact that I have always appreciated Olivia and the great help that she gave me as I planned and made preparations for Lisa's wedding. It was good to see her. This is a shot of Olivia, who now lives in Richmond, Virginia.
Ema and Ellyn in their lovely flower-girl dresses which were made by Melissa. Ema pulled Kai, the "Flower Guy" in the wagon, and Ellyn walked behind, tossing flowers.
Terry performed the ceremony. Does Bryce look a little nervous here?

Jed was Best Man. This shot was taken in the house used by the groomsmen.Rachel's dad escorts her down the aisle.

A shot of the "Married with Kids" set.

The Wedding Rehearsal

Bryce and Rachel...mostly Rachel, I
believe..planned a beautiful wedding ceremony on the shores of Big Lake...about an hour's drive from Eagle River. Here are a few photos from the rehearsal dinner cookout held on Friday evening.

Grizzly!

Well, here I am at Lisa's in Eagle River. I was taking photos of the view from her dining room on Saturday morning around 7:30 when I realized that a Grizzly was lumbering along the street below me.

Lindsay's husband, Matt, was the only other person up, and we decided that we'd better ask Terry if we should call the police and report it. However, Terry said that the police don't do anything up here. There are signs posted in people's yards up the hill, and people are warned not to go jogging alone. Lisa has been busy getting her classroom set up for school which starts tomorrow, and she is feeling bad that they haven't had time to take me hiking. Well, she sure does not need to worry...after seeing that bears stroll right along the neighborhood streets, I have absolutely no desire to hike into the forest where they all hang out.

Catching Up

For Guenther's 81st birthday, his kids treated us to dinner at the Banzai Steak House in Sandy where the chef prepared our food right in front of us. We had a fun evening.

Jeannine presented her dad with new framed photos.

This is the luggage that I brought home from the airport on Sunday the 10th after my flight to Anchorage was canceled. I decided to bag the trip, but Lindsay used some skymiles to book another flight leaving on Friday because Bryce and Rachel were disappointed that I wasn't coming to the wedding on Saturday.
