Family Party for month of May at Brad and Jackie's
Here are a few fun shots that I took on Sunday evening when we went to Jackie's. Brad barbecued delicious burgers and franks, and as always, the food was great.

Middle of May
Last week was busy..as usual. For retired people, we seem to have something going most of the time. We helped at the Deseret Cannery, where we canned strawberry jam, on Wednesday. Then on Thursday we did sealings in the Salt Lake Temple for our Stake Temple Day. We drove to West Point and mowed and fertilized lawns on Saturday.
Guenther washes his hands prior to entering the canning room.
Here he is placing jars onto the conveyor belt where they travel to be labeled. I was working on the opposite end of this machine. My job was to push the newly capped boiling hot jam-filled bottles onto a moving shelf which took them into the machine where they received a water bath to cool them properly and facilitate the sealing process.
This is how the pasture looked when we first started to mow it on Saturday.
An "after" photo.
Guenther sprayed the weeds.
Toby Wan Kenobe (I really don't know how they spell his name) enjoyed the day in West Point. We are dog-sitting while Nancy and the g i r l s are in Disneyland for a fun vacation and for which the g i r l s each met goals in order to go.
This is a shot of our blossoming tree...unique in that it grows both pink and white blossoms due to a graft many years ago.
Another view of our hybrid tree..this was taken a week after the one above, and the white blossoms have all gone.

We had a spring snowstorm last week with huge, beautiful snowflakes. On the same day that the storm hit, our new Tuff Shed was delivered.
We decided to have a tuff shed built in the Secret Garden...so that we can clean out the little closet beneath the stairs, and so that I can move more "stuff" from West Point in order to sell the house in August. Here's the material for our shed.
Putting down the base.
The walls go up.
His shirt reads "get it done right the first time every time," but he didn't. He neglected to put in one of the air vents, and it's going to be worked on next Thursday.

The finished shed.
Bob and Genie brought the kids by on Saturday evening. They had spent the day at Wheeler Farm where David loved to ride the train and watch the ducks. At our house David always busies himself exploring anything that open, closes, or can be climbed under.
Hmm..these shutters are fun to play with.

So's the stove.

Here are more doors to open.

Have I got the greatest dad in the world or what?
Here is our precious little Emma.

Don't you love these blue eyes?
A pensive Emma. She can scoot and get herself all over the place now...and her mom says she copies everything she can that David does...follows him around so often that he sometimes gets annoyed with her.
Time to go home. Here's a kiss for Grandpa.

Back to Blogging
It seems as though we have been really busy since my return from visiting Doug and Mary Ann's family. But here I am again. Yesterday we went to West Point for our weekly task of lawn care. This is a shot of the pasture before Guenther mowed it.
It was so great to see Lindsay and her kids...we had made arrangements to meet there at the house. Ellyn is carrying a gift for GrandmaGreat..it was two lovely drawings by the g i r l s and a new Olenslager video. Kai didn't appreciate being left there for a moment by his mom.
Ema wanted to show me how she could twirl on the bar, but she fell on her
face instead.
Ema says that her dad taught her how to pump her legs on the swings. He did a good job.
And our lovely pansies.
