Guenther Gets Great-Grandson Number Two (nine great-granddaughters)

Krissie brought Mr. Cole Jaycob Norton for a visit last week. He is really, really cute...looks like his dad to us. Cole was born on January 5th 2009...he's already telling the world that he wants to do things on his own timetable. Everyone else wanted him to arrive a week or so earlier.

Birthday Dinner

We celebrated Ellyn's third and Jen's twenty-fourth birthdays last Saturday evening. Jen brought her friend, Jason.

A Project Gets Done

Guenther decided to sheet rock a wall in the downstairs bathroom last week, and we were delighted when Rich came over Saturday and gave him a hand.

Ouch! Am I Starting A Tradition?

Dec. 2007. I got this black eye when Ellyn raised her head while she was on my lap when I was reading to her.

January 2009. I was holding Emma Claire on my lap when she threw her head back. I guess I have to be more careful with those toddlers.

Invasion!

During this past month, we have found dead or have killed at least one-hundred yellow jackets in our basement. I guess that they constructed a huge nest during the summer, and now they are coming into the house for warmth and light. Many of them are huge...fully grown. Fortunately they are sluggish and easy to swat, and some are dying on their own. I killed two this morning and also picked a dead one off the basement carpet. We have sprayed with Home Defense, and hopefully they'll all die before summer. Wish us well.

Mike earns his Eagle Scout award

Here are some shots of Mike getting his Eagle Scout award last Sunday night. I am really proud of him and of his mom and dad for helping him with this achievement.
Mike was asked to give a pin to the person he wanted to honor as his mentor, and he chose Jordan, who had helped him with his merit badges.

38 in the Stoll Family Have a Party in December

Guenther tackles our front walk after the big snow storm last week.
We were able to get the Cultural Hall at our chapel for the December Stoll party. With Renee and Suzie in town, we had thirty-eight people, so we really needed a place for a big group. The chapel was perfect...the heat was on, and the parking lot was plowed when we got there at 4 p.m. on the 26th. Jackie had organized a "soup" menu, and everything was yummy.Genie and David.

Miscellaneous Photos

Jeannine's daughter, Lindsey, helped me bake sugar cookies and make a pear jello salad one morning when the missionaries were having dinner with us that night. Lindsey loves to cook.

Kordell Norton, Renee's husband, gave a presentation to the Draper Chamber of Commerce, and Guenther and I were pleased to be invited. They were here from Ohio for Christmas with the four Utah Norton kids, and also for Krissie's baby who is due anytime.

Guenther took this shot of me as I waited for Nancy, Summer, and Drew one Sunday in December. Nancy got tickets to see the Tabernacle Choir's Christmas Program.
